Skipper Kaunian Abbas struck an unbeaten ton as Southern Champs (Jain University) crushed Eastern Eagles (VBS University) by 130 runs in their opening match of the University Cricket Championship at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Sunday.
Riding on Abbas’ 65-ball 128, which included nine fours and eight sixes, Jain University amassed 198 for three in 20 overs.
VBS in their reply could muster a paltry 68/9 in 20 overs, conceding a huge defeat. Prabhakar Rajendra (2/6) and Shashindra (2/12)took two wickets each.
