Top seed Ajinkya Joshi will take on Chinmaya Venkatesh, seeded fourth, in the boys’ under-15 final of the R Subbanna memorial and Yonex State badminton championship here.
Joshi overcame Bhuvan Rajesh 21-7, 21-19 in the semifinals on Tuesday, while Venkatesh pulled off an upset, beating second seed Saket CS 21-18, 21-23, 21-5 in the other last-four tie.
In the under-15 girls’ semifinals, top seed Medha Shashidharan defeated fifth seed Kriti Bharadwaj 21-18, 21-19 to enter the final.
Medha will face fourth seed Richa Muktibodh, who also caused an upset, ousting second seed Keerthana P Shroff 21-18, 21-16 in the other last-four tie.
