The Army Service Corps (ASC) and Indian Navy Polo and Equestrian Club (INPEC) team defeated 61 Cavalry Polo Club (61 Cav) and Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) 8-5.5 to clinch the eight-goal Bangalore Polo Cup, the final leg of the Bangalore Polo Season, at the Agram ground on Sunday.

61 Cav and RVC came in to the game with a handicap of plus six which gave them a 1.5-goal advantage as their opponents ASC-INPEC had a superior plus eight handicap.

Cdr Akhil Sirohi  got ASC-INPEC off to a flying start by scoring two goals in the first chukker. Brig SS Kashyap's goal brought 61 Cav-RVC back into the game leaving the scores at 3-2.5 after the first chukker.

Sirohi increased his side's lead by scoring two more goals in the second chukker.  ASC-INPEC went into the third chukker with a lead of 5-3.5, as Sirohi struck once again but his third chukker goal was negated by a Dfr Vijay Singh and the game remained a close affair at 6-4.5 before the final chukker began.

Sirohi capped-off a fine performance by scoring two more goals in the final chukker to take his tally to seven. 61 Cav-RVC did not go down without a fight as Vijay Singh scored his second of the game. But ASC-INPEC defended resolutely to shut out 61 Cav-RVC and win the match.
