Des Abbott gave the hosts a great start scoring after two minutes but Florian Fuchs, Martin Haner and Matthias Witthaus hit back with goals to put the Germans 3-1 in front at halftime. However, Australia struck three times in the opening 15 minutes of the second half through Liam de Young and Luke Doerner (twice) to stun the Germans.
Fergus Kavanagh completed the scoring with three minutes to go as Australian retained the trophy.
