French girl Celine Cattaneo stunned top-seed Varatchaya Wongteanchai of Thailand 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 to storm into the final of the NECC-ITF USD 25,000 Women’s tennis tournament here on Friday.
Cattaneo will face 16-year-old Ukrainian Anna Shkudun, who too rallied from a set down to defeat Turkey’s Melis Sezer 1-6, 6-0, 6-0.
The French girl won the two hour 14 minute battle to make it to her third final of the year, and her first of the year at a USD 25,000 event.
Shkudun made it to her second final in three weeks, having won in Solapur two weeks ago.
