There was a big rush on Tuesday for tickets for India’s second T20 international against Australia to be played here at the Chinnaswamy stadium on February 27.

A total of 7000 tickets were sold at three gates (No 2, No 18, No 19) of the Chinnaswamy stadium amid tight security. The sales, which began at 10 am, went on till 5 pm.

“Around 6000 tickets ranging between Rs 750 and Rs 1500 were sold. We didn’t face any issue with the crowd. A total of 1000 tickets of higher denomination tickets (ranging between Rs 2500-Rs 10000) were sold out within the first two hours of the sales,” said Vinay Mruthyunjaya, KSCA spokesperson. The online sales, which was open on Saturday, has received a good response, said Vinay.

The first T20I will be played at Vizag on February 24. As per the original schedule, Bengaluru was to host the first game but it was changed, with the city police stating their inability to provide security on that date, with the Aero-India show also in town during the same period.
