Visitors England won the toss and elected to bat on the opening day of the fourth and final Test match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India have made just one change from the previous Test with Mohammad Siraj replacing Jasprit Bumrah, while England have made two, with Dan Lawrence replacing Jofra Archer, and Dom Bess replacing Stuart Broad.
