Brisbane: Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh called Jasprit Bumrah the best bowler in the world at the moment and that he was looking forward to facing the Indian pacer again at the Gabba in the third Test.
"He is coming for me," he said in jest when pointed out that he has not been dismissed by Bumrah in his last three innings.
"We know right now he's probably the best bowler in the world," he noted. "It's just about getting up for that challenge, it's a big series. You want to take on the best in the world. That is certainly my mentality. Look forward to facing him again."
Talking about the tactics to tackle the Indian pace spearhead, Marsh felt each batter will have his plans to face him.
"As a batting unit we back each other’s plans. I think when you have the best bowler in the world and you are just trying to see him off he is going to have one with your name on it. I think it is about applying pressure with your own method and taking the challenge on. Does it become a tactical thing? Everyone has their own plans and we all bat differently so (it’s about) the situation in the game."
Marsh has had little to do in the second Test in Adelaide after being included in the side despite concerns over his fitness following the first Test.
He bowled just four overs in the first innings, didn't get a single over in the second and scored 9 off 26 balls before he "walked out" despite not having edged the ball off R Ashwin.
"It shouldn't be (difficult to know if you hit it)," Marsh said when asked about the bizarre dismissal. "The reality is I thought I hit it and I didn't. I didn't speak to (non-striker Travis Head) Heady. I had a mare.
"Honestly I just thought I hit it so I walked off. When I got to the changerooms they asked if I hit it and I said 'yeah I smashed it'. And then the replay came up and the head went into the hands and about one minute later everyone else was laughing at me," he added.
