Matches between politically-estranged Asian rivals India and Pakistan at major ICC events that either nation is due to host will instead be played at a neutral venue, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Thursday.

The rule will apply to the current tournament hosting rights cycle from 2024 to 2027, which includes the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan, the 2025 women's World Cup in India and the 2026 men's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

Due to soured relations, India have not visited Pakistan since 2008 and the rivals play each other only at multi-team events.
