However, both of them got out in quick succession to put Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in the middle who were batting at 8 and 17 respectively before the rain intervened. For Pakistan, Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi are the two wicket takers. Naseem Shah bowled beautifully consistently troubling Rohit Sharma but without luck

After India were invited to bat first on what looked like a sunny day in Colombo, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made a flying start with both notching up their half centuries. However, both of them got out in quick succession to put Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in the middle who were batting at 8 and 17 respectively before the rain intervened. For Pakistan, Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi were the two wicket-takers.
Even when rain stopped, the wet patches in the outfield held the play. The game was then called off and moved to reserve day as rain returned again as we were nearing a possible restart of the game. That was it for Day 1 keep following DH as we track this encounter tomorrow.
