How both teams have fared coming into today?
Both teams come into this game with two wins out of two.
India battled hard against Australia with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul leading the team over the line to seal a 6-wicket victory. They then dominated against Afghanistan with captain Rohit Sharma scoring a ton en route to an 8-wicket win.
Pakistan brushed aside Netherlands in their opening fixture which they won by 81 runs. Mohammad Rizwan scored a ton for them in their second outing against Sri Lanka to seal a 6-wicket victory.

What a spectacular bowling performance it has been from India. Five bowlers took two wickets each which underlines how it was an all-round performance from the Indian bowlers.
Jasprit Bumrah (2/19) was the most economical while Mohammed Siraj (2/50) and Hardik Pandya (2/34) were a tad bit expensive if we have to pick bones out of that performance.
The spinners Kuldeep Yadav (2/35) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/38) were simply superb as Pakistan crumbled under pressure.
Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49) stitched a good partnership for Pakistan but the team were too heavily reliant on the duo which can be seen in how the batters folded after that partnership was broken.

The wicket was a bit slow. We were focusing on the length. They were not attacking too much so I was just focusing on my pace and my variations. I was bowling very well. Not too much width because of the field restrictions. They weren't trying too much. Rizwan didn't sweep me a lot so I wanted to make him play the bad shot. I've been watching Saud Shakeel the last couple of games and he'd been trying to sweep a lot. He thought that ball was slow but it skidded on. Unbelievable to play in front of this crowd. What an emphatic victory this has been from India. The bowling department did their job beautifully to restrict Pakistan to just 191/10.
The batters then came out all guns blazing as captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with 86 off just 63 balls. Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 53* as alongside KL Rahul 19* he carried India across the finish line with 7 wickets and 117 balls to spare.
Not only is this a huge victory against their arch-rivals, but this win also fires India to the top of the table, giving their Net Run Rate a good boost.

It felt good. Usually you try to analyse the wicket as soon as possible. We realised the wicket is on the slower side so we wanted to bowl hard lengths. We were trying to make it as difficult as possible. (On how he reads pitches quickly and understands what lengths work) Just being aware I guess. I used to ask a lot of questions when I was young and that helps me now. Now I'm experienced. In my younger days they (seniors) were used to being troubled by me sometimes (with questions), but it helps to read the wicket and try different options. (On the slower ball to get rid of Rizwan) We were bowling in the middle overs and I saw Jaddu's ball was turning, not too much but a little bit. I count my slower ball as a spinner's slower ball, one of those days where it came off. We started well, with a good partnership between Imam and me. We just planned to play normal cricket and build partnerships. Suddenly there was a collapse and we could not finish well. Not good for us, the way we started, our target was 280-290 but the collapse cost us. The total was not good. We are not up to the mark with the new ball. The bowlers were the ones today as well who set the game up for us. I don't think it was a 190 pitch. At one stage we were looking at 280. The way they showed grit says a lot. That is something we pride ourselves in. Whoever gets the ball does the job. We've got 6 individuals who can do the job with the ball. My job as a captain is important there as well. It's to read the conditions and figure out who's the right guy to do the job. It's only because the guys - before entering the WC - they got a lot of runs. We were very clear what we wanted to do. Didn't want to be in two minds about who's going to bat where. All in all, it's looking good. Want to keep my fingers crossed. Don't want to get too excited. Don't want to get too low as well. Want to stay balanced. Keep calm and keep moving forward. Every opposition we come up against are all quality.
