While the full team isn't yet ready, it's reliably learnt that Prasad and Vinay would lead the group in the polls likely to be held between end of September and November.

The incumbent administration that came into power with the blessings of Brijesh Patel in 2022, will complete its three-year term in the second week of November.

Prasad, who has previously served as the vice-president during Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath regime from 2013-2016, and Vinay will soon hold a media meet to announce their candidature along with other members of the team and outline their agenda for the association that has been mired in controversy for the last two months.

The tragic incidents of June 4 when 11 Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans lost their lives in a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy stadium has put KSCA in the dock with the State government sparing no effort to apportion the culpability on association officials.

Following the death of scores of cricket fans and injuries to several more, KSCA secretary Shankar A and treasurer ES Jairam were forced to resign while the inquiry is on against other officials, including president Raghuram Bhat.

The association has been functioning without an elected secretary and treasurer for close to two months now.
