Riyan Parag, Rajasthan Royals' stand-in skipper, became the first in IPL history to hit six sixes in six consecutive legal balls. He achieved the feat in Match 53 against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.

Starting with the second ball of the 13th over, Parag smacked Moeen Ali for 5 sixes in 5 legal deliveries. Then in the 14th over, Shimron Hetmyer turned over the strike to his skipper off the first ball of Varun Chakravarthy's over. Parag then hit another six, completing the set.

Chris Gayle (2012), Rahul Tewatia (2020), Ravindra Jadeja (2021) and Rinku Singh (2023) hold the record of hitting five sixes in an over in IPL.

However, Parag's efforts were in vain as the batter was unable to take his side home, who lost by 1 run to KKR.
