Left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket demigod Sachin Tendulkar has enlisted his name in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction — starting February 18 — for a base price of Rs 20 lakh, according to multiple news reports.

The 21-year-old bowler made his senior debut in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year, for Mumbai. Tendulkar featured twice through the course of the tournament, making his debut in the loss to Haryana and the final group stage tie against Puducherry, which Mumbai also lost.

Having played only two matches, Tendulkar junior's statistics have little to show for, picking up two wickets in as many innings, and getting hit for a total of 67 runs. His economy stands at a lowly 9.57.

The medium-fast blower had previously made headlines when he showed up as ground staff at The Lord's Cricket Ground during India's 2018 tour of England. Tendulkar has previously been seen in the nets with the Indian cricket team on several occasions and was also present as a net bowler for the Mumbai Indians during the 2020 IPL season.

It remains to be seen whether Tendulkar will be picked up at all. And should he be picked up in the auction, it's unclear how high his price will soar.
