The Cricket Mania Contest organised by Deccan Herald and Prajavani saw a grand conclusion with the prize distribution ceremony here on Friday.

Over 50,000 readers from across the State participated in the ten contests which were organised during the Indian Premier League’s seventh season.

Around 30,000 readers gave the right answers and from these, through a lucky draw, ten people bagged the first, second, third and bumper prizes. Apart from this, 70 consolation prizes were also given away to readers. Canara Bank were the co-sponsors for the event.

The top three were given away branded electronic items. The first prize winner took home an LED television set while the runner-up bagged a mobile set. A music system was handed over to the second runner-up.

The awards were presented by former cricketer Dodda Ganesh, Canara Bank Deputy General Manager ST Ramachandra and Kannada cine star Vrinda Pavana and MLC Tara.

As a part of the ongoing FIFA World Cup, another contest is also open for the readers where the bumper prize will be a holiday package to Goa for a couple.
