The ICC has confirmed Powell’s replacement to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) on behalf of the event technical committee on Wednesday.
McClean, a 21-year-old all-rounder from Barbados, has not played international cricket but has appeared in 13 first-class matches in which he has scored 291 runs at an average of 20.78. He has bagged 39 wickets at an average of little over 20 with his best figures being 5-49.
The confirmation for Haddin’s replacement was also conveyed to the Cricket Australia (CA) on Thursday.
