India named a 13-man team for the second Test against Australia here beginning on Friday, while announcing that batsman senior batsman Rohit Sharma and off-spinner R Ashwin have been ruled out due to injuries.

While Ashwin was left out owing to a left-side abdominal strain, Rohit was declared unfit to play after the right-hander failed to recover from a jarred lower back which he sustained while fielding on the final day of the first Test in Adelaide. Both players are undergoing treatment, said a BCCI press release.

Young opener Shaw is said to be recovering well from his left ankle injury he suffered while fielding in the practice match in Sydney. His treatment is continuing.
