Reigning National champion Prathima and Namratha together totalled 2098 pins in six games, to beat State-mates Judy Alban and Swapna Mitra by 60 pins in the opening event of the meet, giving Karnataka a perfect start. Tamil Nadu pair of Sabeena Saleem and Sana Saleem finished third with a total of 1894 pins.
Prathima, who was crowned the National champion only recently, showed he mettle by bowling an average of 183.66, while her partner averaged 166 held in long oil condition.
