Delhi Dynamos FC has roped in former India striker Raman Vijayan as assistant coach for the second season of Indian Super League (ISL).

Vijayan will also be the technical director of the club’s grassroots programme and will work in tandem with assistant coach Shakti Chauhan in the team’s preparations for the upcoming season.

“I am not only excited to work with the first team but I am also looking forward to developing the budding footballers of tomorrow,” said Vijayan.

Vijayan’s 12-year-long career began with the East Bengal FC after which he went on to play for FC Kochi, Mahindra United, Dempo and Mohammedan Sporting.

He is one of the two Indian footballers to have finished as top-scorer in the National League.
At the twilight of his playing career, Vijayan took to coaching.

He completed his AFC ‘A’ license in 2014 and had previously managed South United Club in Bengaluru for three years before taking charge at Chennai FC.

Vijayan will join the rest of the technical staff at Delhi Dynamos and help prepare the team for their pre-season, which starts in August third week.
