Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) edged past Indian Navy Polo and Equestrian Club (INPEC) 4-3.5 to book their spot in the final of the six-goal Gyan Jyoti tournament of the Bangalore Polo Season at the Agram ground on Tuesday.

RVC came into the match with a handicap of four while the Indian Navy had a handicap of three, giving them a half-goal of handicap advantage in the fixture.

It was hard to separate the teams in the first chukker, with Cdr Akhil Sirohi scoring for the Navy and RVC's Dfr Ram Singh cancelling out the advantage.

The game was a lot more open in the second and third chukker as five goals were scored in total.

Sirohi scored a goal in each of the chukkers and took his match tally to three but it was to be in vain.

Dfr Vijay Singh scored one in the second chukker and two in the third to seal the game for RVC, as both teams were unable to find a goal in the fourth chukker.

Cavalry in summit clash

In the other semifinal, 61 Cavalry Polo Club eased past Army Service Corps 4-2. Vishal Chauhan of 61 Cavalry maintained the momentum of scoring goals in each chukker and also kept the pressure on the opposite team.

Cavalry PC will now face RVC in the final of the tournament, which will be played on Wednesday.
