RWF hold SUFC

Bangalore, dhns: Rail Wheel Factory rallied to hold South United Football Club 1-1 in the BDFA Super Division football league at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Wednesday.
SUFC went ahead through Amoes in the 35th minute of the match before RWF equalised when Regin converted a penalty in the 60th minute.

SUFC now have eight points from five matches while RWF are also on eight points but they played six games.

SUFC opened their account when Amoes, after a solo effort, found the net with a right-footer to give the Raman Vijayan-coached side a 1-0 lead. SUFC went into the break with the lead.

After the break, Regin put RWF on level terms by converting from the spot. Referee Elangovan awarded a penalty when SUFC defender Gour Shankar handled the ball inside the penalty area. Later, Regin received marching orders for fouling Amoes.
Both teams had their chances to collect three points but their strikers fluffed in front of the goal.

In ‘A’ Division, a second-half goal from Rahul Shetty helped Jawahar Union register a narrow 1-0 win over AGORC.

Rahul netted the all-important goal in the 50th minute. Post the goal, the match produced very little pf goal-mouth action.

Thursday’s matches: ‘A’ Division: Bangalore Kickers vs SAI (1.00 pm). Super Division: HASC vs ADE (3.00 pm).
