Asian Youth champion Vikas pummelled Germany’s Thomas Vahrenholt 8-0, while Shiva was equally dominating in his 11-3 triumph over Alexandru Marin of Romania.
Shiva will now be up against Cuba’s Robeisy Ramirez Carrazana, who beat off stiff competition from Poland’s Dawid Micheles to win 11-7.
Vikas, on the other hand, faces Lithuania’s Evaldas Petrauskas, who was leading 8-1 against Australia’s Brett Mather before the referee stopped the contest in his favour.
“I observed him (Romanian opponent) closely during his quarterfinal bout. My coach (G Manoharan) worked out a strategy accordingly and I just stuck to that. I counter-punched most of time and having gained in confidence from my four previous wins, it all seemed easy for me,” Shiva said.
