Canadadefeated Sweden 3-2 on penalties to win Olympic women's football gold for the first time following a 1-1 draw after extra time Friday in Yokohama.

Wrestling: India assistant coach sent home for assaulting referee

A Belarusian member of India's wrestling coaching staff is being sent home for assaulting a referee at the TokyoOlympics, the IndianOlympicAssociation (IOA) said on Friday.

"Indian wrestling team's foreign assistant coach Mr Murad Gaidarov, who was involved in an uncalled (for) incident of assault on one of the match referees, is being withdrawn from the TokyoOlympicVillage immediately..." tweeted IOA secretary-general Rajeev Mehta.

The Indian men's 4x400m relay team set an Asian record time of 3:00.25 but were unable to make it to the final of the event.

Muhammad Anas, Arokia Rajiv, Noah Nirmal Tom and Amoj Jacob finished 9th overall, missing the final by 0.88 seconds
