India's Under 20 football team pulled off an upset by beating six-time world champions Argentina 2-1 in the COTIF International Football in Spain on Monday.

The historic victory came after a brilliant team performance against the mighty South Americans. Deepak Tangri opened the scoring in the 4th minute from a corner kick and Anwar Ali converted a free-kick in the 68th minute to double India's lead.

The Argentinian goal came in the 72nd minute as Marinelli's shot from outside the box hit the crossbar and slipped into the net.

Goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill starred by making a number of saves to keep the Indian team ahead. India had to play the majority of the second half with ten men after Aniket Jadhav was sent-off in the 51st minute.

The Indian side had previously lost 2-0 against Murcia and 3-0 vs Mauritania. They also drew against Venezuela in the tournament. Despite the loss to India, Argentina moved to the next round as toppers in Group A.
