The CoE-PCTC match started with the former showing some intent. Stalin and Shankar Patil were controlling the pace with their moves on either flanks. However, the alert PCTC defence foiled any danger that surfaced.

But, CoE, were in their elements and they went ahead in the 28th minute when Yavar latched on to a neat pass from Shankar for a tap-in to make it 1-0.

PCTC too tried hard through experienced Sunil Kumar Ekka to score the equaliser. Saran Lakra and S Kujur were providing him able support but the goals eluded PCTC. The score board read 1-0 at half time.

The second half began with PCTC playing with a lot more purpose. Kujur came close to scoring on a couple of occasions but CoE’s custodian Kirthi was brilliant under the bars.
Anthony Hemram and Sunil Ekka also tested the PCTC defence with their one-twos but their could not finish the job off.

Yavar came to the party again in the 57th minute for CoE. Manoj went past two defenders on the right flank and gave Stalin a pass and he found an unmarked Yavar near the goalmouth and the latter wasted no time in netting his second goal to take the match beyond the grasp of PCTC.

In the day’s other matches, HASC beat Central Excise 2-0. Nayeemuddin (5th) and Nanaiah (10th) scored for them. MEG beat Maratha Light Infantry 4-2.
