Yuki did not take long to close the match, winning it in mere 53 minutes even as the weather continued to be humid after some early morning showers.

The fourth-seeded Delhi boy next plays qualifier Ashwin Vijayragavan, who beat another qualifier Mithun Murli 6-4, 6-3.

Second seed Vishnu Vardhan proved too good for Briton Maniel Bains, beating him 6-3, 6-2, to set up a second round meeting with quaifier Vijay Kannan who beat Rohan Gide 6-3, 6-3. National champion Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan scored a comfortable 6-2, 6-3 win over Aditya Madkekar. Divij Sharan advanced after a 6-3, 7-5 win over Israel's Tal Eros while sixth seed Rohan Gajjar beat 6-1, 6-1 demolition of compatriot Ajai Selvaraj. Top seed Kento Takeuchi from Japan survived a scare from N Vijay Sunder Prashanth before eking out a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win and third-seeded Korean Hyun-Woo Nam beat Bhisham Desai 6-1, 6-1.
