Usually, Apple unveils new iPhone SE models in March/April and premium models in the September fall event.
This time, the Cupertino-based technology company is planning to bring the new iPhone in February.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman citing company insiders has claimed that the iPhone SE (3rd gen) successor will make its debut this week.
This will be the first time Apple will be bringing a new iPhone this early in the year.
It is said that the Cupertino-based technology company will not hold any event. It will just release a press note about the new iPhone SE's features, price and availability details to the customers.
Apple iPhone SE (4th Gen): Here's what we know so far
There are a lot of conflicting reports on what Apple will call the successor of the iPhone SE 3rd Gen (review). It is expected to be called either the iPhone SE (4th Gen) or the iPhone 16E. The latter makes sense, as it matches the numerical chronology of the current premium iPhone 16 (review) series.
Also, the iPhone 16E will have the latest Apple A18 chipset same as the one found in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models. But, we have to wait for Apple to make the official announcement later this week.
As far as the design language, the iPhone SE (3rd gen) successor is said to feature an iPhone 14-like design language with a 6.1-inch display and a big notch at the top. The latter will house a FaceTime HD camera along with biometric security sensors to power the FaceID feature. This means, there won't be a TouchID fingerprint sensor.
On the back, it is likely to sport a single 48MP main sensor with an LED flash.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to come with 8GB RAM to support the generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI)-based Apple Intelligence features such as Visual Intelligence, Image Playground, Genmoji, Clean Up tool, audio transcriptor, language translator and more
Also, the iPhone SE 4th gen is rumoured to be Apple's first device to boast a propreitary 5G cellular modem. The Cupertino-based company is expected to use the same modem in select devices such as iPad and iPhone 17 series slated for release later this year.
