Samsung launches Galaxy A56, A36 series in India

Last Sunday (March 2), Samsung unveiled three new phones-- the Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 series in Seoul, South Korea.

Now, the company has announced the availability and price details of the new Android phones in India. Initially, Samsung will offer two models-- Galaxy A36 and A56 in India.

The Galaxy A56 comes in three configurations-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 41,999, Rs 44,999 and Rs 47,999, respectively.

The Galaxy A36 will be available in three variants-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 32,999, Rs 35,999 and Rs 38,999, respectively.

Galaxy A56 5G will be available in three colours--awesome olive (green), awesome lightgray and awesome graphite. Whereas the Galaxy A36 5G will also come in three colors-- awesome lavender, awesome black and awesome white.

The Galaxy A36 flaunts a 6.7-inch full HD+ super AMOLED display with Infinity-O design. It supports 120Hz refresh rate, offers up to 1900 nits. It is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus+ shield and also comes with IP67 water-and-dust-resistant certification.

It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM slots, Type-C port and stereo speakers.

Under-the-hood, the device comes with 6nm class Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 octa-core processor, Adreno 710 GPU, 6GB / 8GB / 12GB RAM, 128GB / 256GB storage, triple-camera module-- main 50MP (with f/1.8 aperture, OIS) + 8MP ultra-wide angle camera (with f/2.2) and 5MP (f/2.4) macro sensor with LED flash on the back, 12MP (f/2.2) front camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging speed capability.

On the other hand, the Galaxy A56 sports a 6.7-inch full HD+ super AMOLED with Infinity-O screen design. It supports 120Hz refresh rate, offers up to 1900 nits peak brightness.

It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ shield and IP67 water-and-dust resistant ratings.

Samsung's new phone also features an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM slots, Type-C port and stereo speakers.

It houses 4nm class Samsung Exynos 1580 4nm processor with AMD Xclipse 540 GPU, 8GB / 12GB RAM, 128GB / 256GB internal storage, triple-camera module— 50MP+12MP ultra-wide and 5MP with LED flash, a 12MP front camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging speed capability.

Both devices come with Android 15-based One UI 7.0 OS. They are eligible to get six years of Android OS updates and software security patches against emerging cyber threats up to 2031.

The new devices also support several generative Artificial Intelligence features and apps such as Object Eraser, Reflection Erase, UnBlur, Best Face, Circle to Search, Gemini AI app, Galaxy AI features such as audio transcribing, language translations and more.
