Samsung on Wednesday (January 22) launched the new Android flagship phone Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in San Jose.

The new Galaxy S25 series comes in three variants-- Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25 Plus and S25.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra, the top-end model among the lot, sports a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ (3120x1440p) Infinity-O-Edge Dynamic AMOLED Display with a variable refresh rate (1-120Hz). IP68 water-and-dust resistant rating.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Android 15-based OneUI 7.0, 12GB/16GB RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB storage and a 5,000mAh battery.

It houses a quad-camera module-- 200MP(with OIS: Optical Image Stabilisation)+ 50MP 120-degree Ultra Wide sensor + 10MP Telephoto lens (with 3x zoom, OIS) + 50MP Periscope lens (for 5x zoom, 100x Space Zoom, Laser autofocus) with LED Flash. It will support 4K video recording at 60 frames per second (fps) and 8K at 30fps. 

And, on the front, it comes with a 12MP camera for selfies and video recording.

The Galaxy S25 Plus features a 6.67-inch QHD+ (3120x1440p) dynamic super AMOLED-based screen and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 4,900mAh battery.

It boasts of a triple camera module-- with 50MP (with OIS) + 12MP 120-degree Ultra Wide sensor + 10MP Telephoto lens (with 3x optical zoom, OIS) with LED flash. It supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second (fps) and 8K at 30fps.

And, it features a 12MP front camera for selfies and video calling.

The low-end Galaxy S25 is said to come with a small 6.2-inch full HD+(2340x1080p) dynamic super AMOLED display, triple-camera module-- 50MP+12MP+10MP-- LED flash on the back, 12MP front camera, Android 15-based One Ui 7.0, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a 4,000mAh battery with 25W charger.

Device owners will be able to converse with Galaxy AI like any two regular people speak. The AI assistant will be able to finish tasks with minimal voice commands.

Further, Samsung has also revealed that Galaxy AI-powered Sketch to Image will get better with Android 15-based One UI 7 OS on Galaxy S25.

Users will be able to do much more than draw a rough sketch and let the Sketch to Image complete the drawing. For instance, you can write a rough image of a cat with an S Pen (on the Galaxy S Ultra version) or use one's finger (on another standard Galaxy S device) and then let Sketch to Image complete it. Then, with text or voice commands, the user can add more effects to the cat. Like type- Add space suit to the cat. The Galaxy AI-based app will churn out a cat with an astronaut suit.

All the new Galaxy S25 series phones are guaranteed to get Android OS updates for seven years.

Samsung Galaxy S25 price details

The prices of Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra starts at Rs 89,999, Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,29,999, respectively.

They are available for pre-order from January 22 and are scheduled to hit stores on February 7 in India.

Those who pre-book 256GB version of Galaxy S25 series, are entitled to get 512GB storage model upgrade free worth Rs 12,000.

One more thing....

At the end of the event, Samsung offered sneak peek at the Galaxy S25 Edge. It will come with ultra-slim structure and is expected to launch later this year.
