Sony unveils ultra-premium BRAVIA Projector 9, 7 series in IndiaThe Projector 9 series can beam content up to a 165-inch screen size, and the Projector 7 can support up to a 120-inch screen size.

Japanese consumer electronics major Sony launched the all-new BRAVIA Projector 9 and 7 series in India.

The latest premium Sony TV projectors boast of custom-designed XR Processor for projectors. It brings new picture technologies such as —XR Dynamic Tone Mapping, XR Deep Black, XR TRILUMINOS PRO, and XR Clear Image. They promise to deliver a professional-grade cinematic experience.

The XR Dynamic Tone Mapping tech can intuitively analyse peak brightness frame by frame and apply optimal tone mapping to showcase images with rich gradation, high brightness, and vibrant colours.

On the other hand, the XR Deep Black tech can enhance dark scenes by precisely controlling laser dimming and produce deeper blacks while preserving tone and colour expression. It also improves power efficiency by optimising the laser output frame by frame.

The XR TRILUMINOS PRO brings over a billion colours to life, while XR Clear Image refines visuals by upscaling content to near-4K quality. Using a vast image database in Sony, it is capable of intelligently restoring lost texture and detail while minimising noise.

Both the BRAVIA Projector 7 and Projector 9 are compatible with IMAX Enhanced content and PlayStation 5 consoles to deliver larger-than-life visuals and a more immersive home viewing experience.

The BRAVIA Projector 9 supports up to 3,400 lumens of brightness, while the BRAVIA Projector 7 offers 2,200 lumens of enhanced brightness.

For gamers, it supports 4K at 120fps with 12ms input lag, along with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) via HDMI 2.1, which ensures smooth, responsive, and immersive gameplay.

Further, the BRAVIA Projector 9 comes with a Live Colour Enhancer for vivid, vibrant images—even in brighter viewing environments.

They come with a Native 4K SXRD Laser Diode-based light source, two HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 2.3) ports, and support all OTT apps. The Projector 9 series can beam content up to a 165-inch screen size, and the Projector 7 can support up to a 120-inch screen size.

Both the new Sony TV projectors are tailor-made for dedicated home theatre and media rooms.

Sony BRAVIA Projector 9 (VPL-XW8100ES) costs Rs 17,00,000 and Projector 7 (VPL-XW5100ES) is priced at Rs 6,50,000.

Sony projectors will be competing with Samsung, BenQ, LG, Epson, ViewSonic and the new company Lumio, among others in the smart TV projector segment, which is fast gaining traction in India.
