Since the launch of the generative Artificial Intelligence Gemini in 2023, Google has steadily integrated the gen AI model to several of its services including Gmail, Google Sheets, and Workspace suite of apps.
Soon, it plans to integrate Gemini AI with its popular navigation service Google Maps, reported eagle-eyed folks at Android Authority who did a Google APK (Android Package Kit) teardown.
For the uninitiated, APK teardown is a process of deep analysis of the codes of an application to find new hidden features that are expected to be activated after getting an update.
Whenever a user uses Gemini to get information about a place, AI bot will offer 'Ask about Place' tab to deliver contextual search query results and connects to the Google Maps.
This will not only help the user get direction to the particular place, but also be able to show timings and if it is a hotel, the app will be able to reveal the menu and also reviews as well.
In a related development, Google stopped more than 2.3 million bad apps entering the Play Store.
It also banned 158,000 plus app developer accounts that attempted to enrol fraudulent Android apps on the Play Store.
The company revealed that it has invested in sophisticated, real-time defence technology that promises to safeguard against scams, malware, and abusive apps.
