However, Apple CEO Tim Cook's new post on X platform has put all speculations to rest. He has confirmed that the Cupertino-based company will welcome a new member to the family on February 19.

Apple is expected to introduce the successor to the iPhone SE (3rd Gen), which was launched almost three years ago.

The new iPhone SE -- specifically aimed at the salaried class -- will come with an affordable price tag compared to the premium iPhone 16 series. But, it will feature big upgrades over the predecessor in terms of design and processor.

The iPhone SE 4th generation is said to feature an iPhone 14-like design language with flat rails around the edges and a big 6.1-inch display with a notch at the top. The latter will house a FaceTime HD camera and biometric security sensors to power the FaceID feature. This means there won't be a TouchID fingerprint sensor.

Also, the iPhone 16E will have the latest Apple A18 chipset same as the one found in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models.

On the back, it is likely to sport a single 48MP main sensor with an LED flash.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to come with 8GB RAM to support the generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI)-based Apple Intelligence features such as Visual Intelligence, Image Playground, Genmoji, Clean Up tool, audio transcriptor, language translator and more.

Also, the iPhone SE 4th gen is rumoured to be Apple's first device to boast a propreitary 5G cellular modem. The Cupertino-based company is expected to use the same modem in select devices such as the iPad and iPhone 17 series slated for release later this year.
