Currently, the company has opened pre-registration for the Grok AI app for select Android phone users on the Play Store. It is expected to be made available for all later this month.

The Grok AI is capable of summarising webpage, a long-form news article, and translating international languages.

It can even help with writer's block to get started with a novel or a story. It can even write a limerick or a poem.

Grok AI can also assist developers in writing software codes, and for researchers, it can scroll through the internet to get reliable information.

Add to that, it can even churn out synthetic realistic photos from just text descriptions.

Grok AI will be available for free with limited capabilities for X platform users. For more advanced Grok AI features, users should subscribe to X Premium+ plans. In India, an X Premium+ subscription costs Rs 1,750 per month and Rs 18,300 per year.

In a related development, Amazon is planning to bring a smarter Alexa digital assistant with gen AI capabilities later this month.

Alexa made its debut a decade ago in 2014, but over the years, the digital assistant has kind of lost its appeal to customers. It is lagging way behind Google's Gemini AI, and OpenAI's ChatGPT, which also powers Microsoft's Copilot.

Alexa is now being used on echo speakers to get the latest news updates, alarms and reminders in the kitchen for cooking and is rarely used to make a full purchase of a product.

The new Alexa will be able to listen to long and complex questions and answer them articulately.
