Google Arts & Culture now offers virtual tour of Elephanta Caves.

Google Arts & Culture, in partnership with CyArk, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) and twelve other partner institutions, has launched 'Explore Elephanta Caves', a virtual tour experience for users worldwide.
Using cutting-edge 3D scanning and generative Artificial Intelligence technology, Google's Art and Culture team will showcase the UNESCO World Heritage site in an immersive virtual tour.
Using the LiDAR camera, CyArk, along with Instucen Trust and ASI, meticulously captured over 6,500 photos and 197 laser scans of the Elephanta Caves' main cave temple.
For the uninitiated, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a mapping technology that uses laser light to create highly accurate 3D maps of various surfaces.
The guided tour allows users worldwide to virtually explore the breathtaking rock architecture of the ancient Elephanta Caves.

Google Arts & Culture also launched Food Mood India edition, another AI experiment that allows users to explore and create with India's incredible food heritage.
The food and customs of the land change every few miles, showcasing the amazing diversity of 28 states and eight union territories of the country.
In the newly created Food Mood India Edition, users have to just select two regional cuisines from India and let the recipe generator create something special cuisine guide.

Users can choose to cook a starter, soup, main course, or dessert and also add information related to number of people to be served. It will be able to offer precise recipe of the food that can be prepared and served to that much guests.
Users can also play with fusion cuisines, like blending the robust flavours of Maharashtra with the coastal influences of Goa, or try mixing the royal spices of Rajasthan with the Karnataka coast's coconut-rich traditions.
Google says that each region's distinctive taste profile has been carefully represented, creating a digital canvas of India's culinary diversity.
The Food Mood India Edition is powered by a Gemini 1.5 Flash-based VertexAI model, and it promises to churn out creative multi-cultural fusion food recipes to try at home.
