Department of Justice in Canada released documents that show all the four accused in the murder of NIA-designated terrorist Hardeep Nijjar on June 18 2023 are no longer in custody, reports ANI.

Karan Brar, Amandeep Singh, Kamalpreet Singh and Karanpreet Singh were charged with the murder of Nijjar.

According to a report by ANI, the documents show the letter 'N' next to their names indicating the accused are no longer in custody.

Brar, Karanpreet Singh and Karanpreet Singh were taken into custody on May 3 last year. Amandeep Singh was already in custody for firearms charges and was later arrested for this crime on May 11.

Bilateral relations between India and Canada plummeted after the assassination of Nijjar on June 18, 2023, in Surrey. Canadian government blamed India for the killing. However, India rubbished the claims calling the accusations 'absurd'.
