Some might call it their favourite trope, others might call it a guilty pleasure, but no one has been able to escape Twilight movies' gravitational pull including tech mogul Elon Musk.
On Monday, Musk took to X (previously known as Twitter) to share his two cents regarding the Social Security numbers in United States.
According to his post and the data he provided, more than 20 million people between the age group of 100-306 years were listed as alive on the Social Security database.
This basically meant a 306 year-old individual was still collecting Social Security from the United States government.
This post prompted many to question the authenticity of the data with Musk making a joke saying "vampires are collecting social security".
"According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE!
"Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security." Musk wrote on X.
Musk's reference to the popular Twilight movies, which feature age-old vampires including the popular Edward Cullen, caused a frenzy on social media.
An Australian entrepreneur named Aiden Hiko posted on X saying, "394,943,364 but total population is 334M?"
The data Musk provided shows there are FAR more “eligible” Social Security numbers than there are citizens in the USA.
To which Musk replied, "Yes, there are FAR more “eligible” social security numbers than there are citizens in the USA. This might be the biggest fraud in history."
Other on X also commented on the recent figures saying “massive fraud red flag”.
Social Security in United States provides retirement benefits and disability income to certain individuals.
As these numbers come to the limelight, people are coming to question the integrity of the data.
