Bangladesh Dy High Commissioner’s gratitude towards India on Bangladesh’s Independence Day

With Bangladesh celebrating its 52nd Independence Day, Indian states sharing a border with it also celebrated their neighbour’s independence, Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Andalib Elias celebrated it in West Bangle’s Kolkata on March 26. Recalling India’s aid during the 1971 war, Elias thanked India for its ‘immense support’ to Bangladesh.

“Thank you India, will always remain grateful to you and for your immense support for 1971. Without you, the war would have been longer,” Elias said.

Bangladesh is celebrating its 52nd Independence Day. The country gained its independence from Pakistan in 1971. A few other states sharing a border with Bangladesh also celebrated their neighbour’s independence.
