The Times of Oman reported Praveen, who was suffering from psychological problems, had been working at a paint shop in the same region for the last three years.
"Praveen was working with us for the last three years. He was a sincere worker. But recently he had started to show some mild psychological problems," one of his friends said.
"After he left the shop we used to keep a track of him. We used to call him on his cellphone and persuade him to come back. We also told him that we would send a car to pick him up from where he was standing," he said.
The friend said they also planned to purchase an air ticket to send him back to India.
"But, he refused to come. Once, when we called him, he said he was having food in a hotel and there was nothing to worry. Later, we lost his contact and filed a missing complaint," the friend said, adding Praveen had got married earlier this year and rejoined work after a short break.
