A Chinese woman survived a brutal attack and has her breast implants to thank as they shielded her from potential death.
As per reports in South China Morning Post, the incident happened at the MixC City Mall Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
The victim with surname Ma was getting into her car when the attack happened. The assailant stormed into the front seat threatening her with a knife. No one came to the 30-year-old's rescue despite her screams for help. He forced Ma to drive him to a neighbouring county, Tongxiang and then asked her to pay for parking.
Seeing that she did not have sufficient amount in her bank account, he asked her to contact some friends. Ma texted her boyfriend about the danger she was facing. He immediately tracked her phone and informed the police.
By the time police came from Chofu station. the attacker stabbed Ma 22 times in the chest before turning it on himself.
The attacker was taken to hosipital, but did not survive unlike Ma.
Doctors said that her breast implants had blocked a potentially fatal injury, with only one wound reaching her lung.
“We counted over 20 stab wounds. Fortunately, I had undergone breast augmentation surgery in the past, and the implant blocked what could have been a fatal blow. Only one stab wound reached my lung,” said Ma.
The incident triggered a social media outburst with people questioning the security loopholes in public spaces and emphasising that people should not be living in fear every time they step outside.
