Pakistani teenage rights activist Malala Yousafzai, shot in the head by Taliban for campaigning for girls’ education, is “stable” following her sixth night in hospital, doctors treating her said on Sunday.

“Malala is stable in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham following her sixth night under the care of Queen Elizabeth and Birmingham Children’s hospitals’ staff,” the hospital said in a statement.

Malala, 15, was shot on a school bus in the former Taliban stronghold of the Swat valley last week as a punishment for campaigning for the right of girls to an education, in an attack which outraged the world.
