Elon Musk, Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and close adviser to President Donald Trump made some serious allegations and demands at a rally in Green Bay ahead of the elections for Wisconsin's state Supreme Court.
As he sought to drum up enthusiasm for the election slated to be held on Tuesday, Musk handed out $1 million checks to two voters in Wisconsin and promised smaller payments to others who help elect a conservative candidate.
At the rally Musk claimed that the United States social security programme has 20 million dead beneficiaries, and endorsed the dismantling of the country's central bank, the US Federal Reserve, drawing severe criticism across various social media platforms.
A video posted by @MAGALieTracker shows Elon Musk, when asked about his opinion of the US Fed, endorsing the dismantling of the institution. Musk is seen throwing his hand in the air and explaining “End the Fed!” garnering an uproar of laughter from the audience. “I always wanted to say that” he added.
“Elon Musk endorses eliminating the Federal Reserve. If you want the economy to implode with runaway inflation, this is what you’d do (sic),” the caption of the post read.
“I think there's like 20,000 people who work at the Fed, seems pretty high… Why do you have so many people at the Fed and what do they do? Sometimes I wonder, which one would win on federal interest rates — the board of the Fed or the magic eight ball,” Musk is heard saying.
He said that the magic eight ball, a fortune-telling would win and be much cheaper, taking a jibe at the Fed's wait-and-watch stance on the US economy.
Elon said, “What really matters is that the government spending is not far in excess of government revenue. That's a fundamental issue that we have, a deficit of $2 trillion, and we have interest payments that now exceed the entire budget of the military. That was a big wake-up call for me. That's a disaster."
He praised the DOGE's efforts to “get rid of mostly waste”.
Many social media users were quick to criticise Musk's claims.
One user sharing the clip wrote, “Elon Musk says that he found 20 million dead people on Social Security at the town hall in Wisconsin where he’s trying to buy a state justice. How dumb does he think people are? It’s beyond insulting to have someone lie so excessively.”
Many users commented asking, “Where are the prosecutions?”, “provide names, we'll wait…”, “Without any evidence, he just makes up stuff.”, and “So why hasn't Pam Bondi prosecuted anyone for this? Because it's all b*llsh*t!”
