Whether it is Elon Musk's son comically picking his nose next to United States President Donald Trump or it is the tech mogul himself talking about the discrepancy in social security numbers and somehow relating it to vampires, these acts certainly prove the Musk family has penchant for grabbing the headlines.

Recently, the birth of his son and the unique moniker given to him has brought the world at the edge of their seats.

The tech mogul welcomed his 4th child Seldon Lycurgus with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.

Seldon Lycurgus is also Musk's 14th child. The announcement of his birth was made by Zilis on X (formerly Twitter). The couple was celebrating their third child, Arcadia's first birthday.

Shivon Zilis wrote, "Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much."

Since historical precedence shows that Musk has talent for giving unique names to his children, the announcement of Lycurgus's birth was followed by an intense speculation over the origins of the child's name.

According to a report by India Today, Musk's child's first name Seldon may be derived from popular sci-fi writer Issac Asimov's Foundation series. In the books there is a character named Hari Seldon who is a mathematician and visionary.

The report also states the the name Lycurgus is derived from ancient Spartan lawgiver who is known for shaping Sparta's governance. Sparta was a city-state in ancient Greece.
