A day after United States' Department of Justice released the heavily redacted files on the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, at least 16 of the photos seem to be missing. One of these missing files also include a photo of US President Donald Trump .
With no intimation to the public from the government, the Democrats have begun questioning the powers that be as to what are they hiding.
Barring Trump, these missing cache of files included photos of paintings depicting nude women, another one showing a series of photographs along a credenza and in drawers. It was in this drawer where a photograph featuring Trump with Epstein, Melania Trump and Epstein’s convicted accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell was found.
The other missing photos also include the infamous massage room in Epstein’s mansion in New York. Investigators say that many of his sexual assaults occurred in that very room.
Department of Justice's silence has paved way for speculation to arise with many questioning why were the photos removed and why was wasn't this notified to the public.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee took to Twitter and questioned the US government over the cover-up. They posted the missing image featuring Trump and wrote, "This photo, file 468, from the Epstein files that includes Donald Trump has apparently now been removed from the DOJ release. @AGPamBondi is this true? What else is being covered up? We need transparency for the American public."
After months of waiting, the Department of Justice released the much anticipated Epstein files on Friday. However, instead of answering any or all questions the public had, these files left many feeling confused.
The heavily redacted files did not give any clear insight into Epstein's business associates and contacts. Rather, the files that were released did feature Trump's rival, the Former President Bill Clinton prominently.
Trump has not made any comments regarding the release of Epstein files nor has he said anything about the 'missing ones".
