Everyone has been curious enough to know the secret behind Elon Musk's flourishing career.
The Billionaire has himself now revealed the secret.
"Since I couldn't get a job at an Internet company, I had to start a Internet company," said Musk in a recent interview at Y Combinator that was posted on X.
Though his recent face-off with US President Donald Trump did not go well with the Internet users, that has not dented his popularity much.
It may be recalled that the public feud between the two most influential figures in the United States reached a crescendo, with Trump suggesting that he may terminate US government contracts and subsidies given to Musk's companies after the latter blasted Trump's 'Big, Beautiful Bill' as fiscally reckless and a "disgusting abomination."
The Musk-Trump break-up also sent Tesla's stock price plunging while keyboard warriors went berserk with a wave of memes and viral one-liners across the world of web.
But looks like Musk still has lot of fan following. In the interview at Y Combinator Musk disclosed how he began his journey into the world wide of web.
“I should point out that I didn't actually at first intend to start a company. I tried to get a job at Netscape. I sent my resume in to Netscape and Marc Andreessen knows about this, but I don't think he ever saw my resume. And then nobody responded. And then I tried hanging out in the lobby of
Netscape to see if I could bump into someone, but I was too shy to talk to anyone.” he said.
"So I'm like, man, this is ridiculous. So I'll just write software myself and see how it goes. So it wasn't actually from the standpoint of like, I want to start a company. I just want to be part of building the Internet in some way," he added.
The viral video posted on social media, got good tractions with many users saying it was a fate that led him away from the Netscape job and if he had taken a different path the world would be deprived of the remarkable advancements he has contributed to.
