Peshawar: At least five people died and several others, including two firefighters, were injured in a devastating fire incident in Pakistan's Peshawar city, police said.
The fire engulfed a house located in the congested Jan Imambargah area of Peshawar city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday night, the police added.
The emergency service reported that they recovered six people from the house, five of whom had succumbed to injuries.
Two firefighters were also injured in the process of saving lives, police said. They were rushed to the nearby hospital, along with several others who were injured in the incident.
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, extended condolences to the bereaved families.
