A woman in Florida was recently arrested for drowning her pet dog inside Orlando International Airport bathroom, because she could not board the flight as she did not have the proper paperwork done.
As per a report by WESH, the woman named Alison Lawrence was set to travel to Colombia on December 16, 2024
Along with the luggage, she had dog named Tywinn with her. However, due to lack of right paperwork, she was not allowed to board the flight with her dog.
The Orlando Police Department said that officers responded to a case of finding a dead dog inside the women's restroom at the airport. The officers found accessories of the dog in a trash bag.
The dog's tag had Lawrence's name and contact details on it. The report stated that a woman who was working at that time saw the woman cleaning up water and dog food that was there at bathroom floor stall.
She then saw Lawrence exiting the bathroom, leaving her luggage behind.
As per the report, Tywinn was a nine-year-old miniature schnauzer. The woman was arrested on March 18 and is charged for animal cruelty.
The clips of CCTV footage from the airport of Lawrence with her dog were posted on social media. This incident sparked anger among people online.
"Literally no reason to do that other than pure evil," a user on X commented.
"That is the sickest form of Animal cruelty I’ve heard in a long time. Her thought process was if I can’t have the dog nobody can. So, she took that poor dog’s life. I’m beside myself with anger," a second user wrote.
"Couldn't just let it go free? How hard is that?" a third questioned.
Another user noted, "I wonder if her destination was worth her humanity. My heart breaks for the sweet defenseless pup, she didn’t deserve a pet and should NEVER be near another animal or child."
