While cats and dogs are man's most beloved animals, there can be times when their playfulness ends up having serious consequences, as seen in two recent stories—one from China and the other from Thailand.

In China, a 25-year-old woman had typed out a resignation letter on her laptop and was considering sending it to her boss. She was reluctant because losing her job meant she would face difficulties feeding her pets.

However, bad luck struck when one of the nine cats she owns jumped onto the laptop and accidentally ended up hitting the 'Send' button.

Although she immediately informed her boss that the cat was the culprit behind her resignation letter being sent, she ended up losing both her job and her year-end bonus, as per a report by South China Morning Post.

Her misfortune was a source of amusement for many on Chinese social media, as per the publication.

One person apparently said, “It sounds more like your cat is doing your boss a favour, saving them a large sum of bonus money.”

Dog brings home a bomb

In another incident, this time in Thailand, a soldier was shocked to see an explosive in the hands of his four-year-old son.

Their dog, a Labrador-Golder Retriever mix called Latter, had apparently found the device somewhere and brought it into their garden.

Sergeant Major Jittakorn Talangjit, the soldier in question, told a local newspaper that the canine has a soft spot for round objects and has often brought random things home to play with.

The explosive, wrapped in black tape, was apparently homemade by teens to burst during some festivities.

The soldier immediately put the bomb—which is not as powerful as the real one but can still kill or maim—into a cardboard box stuffed with dry grass, which was further covered with a rubber tyre to contain the blast if it indeed went off.

Police and officials of the bomb squad had to be called in to defuse the explosive.
