The much awaited Gaza ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas has now come into effect, according to news agency Reuters.
The ceasefire agreement also sets in motion the release of dozens of Israeli hostages that Hamas and its allies have been holding in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, along with the retreat of Israeli forces from Gaza.
Israel received a list of hostages in Gaza to be released on Sunday and Israeli security personnel were checking the "details", the prime minister's office said.
It also said it had begun notifying families of hostages to be released via representatives of the Israeli military.
An Israel official revealed that the names of three female hostages to be released by Hamas on Sunday has been received by them.
