The X account of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier got hacked on Sunday and was modified to make it look like an account dedicated to the erstwhile Nazi Party's chief Adolf Hitler (screenshot below).

Here is how the German President's X account looks like now.

Soon the issue was flagged and the account got suspended. However, a while later, the account details were changed to make it look like the account of the Water Resources Department of the government of Bihar.

An X user shared screenshots where it can be seen that under the account with the name Water Resources Department of the government of Bihar while still using the handle @FrankWalterGER, the hacker had posted an image of Hitler with Italian dictator Benito Mussolini with the caption "Remember: when you stand togerther, when your goal is the same, when your spirit is unshakable, noting can stop you. #MGGA", where the abbreviation likely stands for 'Make Germany Great Again.'

There has been no official communication so far from the German government regarding the incident.

BRICS news posted a screenshot of the German President's account before it got hacked, which shows the same @FrankWalterGER handle and a different caption:
