Black smoke rose over the airport.

The Indian Air Force has confirmed the death of the pilot and has informed that a court of inquiry is being constituted to probe the cause of the accident.

The aircraft, which was developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is a single-seat Light Combat Aircraft. The tragic incident unfolded during the Dubai Air Show, which is one of the largest aviation exhibitions in the globe.

This is the second known crash of the fighter jet, which is powered by General Electric engines. The first crash was during an exercise in India in 2024.
